I think so and feel that keeping these traditions alive matters so much for the world and for our own well being. Wearing something that has been created with such intention and made from natural and quality materials feels so much more special than a fast fashion piece. At least that's how I feel and I hope others do too.
Love this post. It reminds me of a pink and grey Fair Isle jumper I always wanted to have custom made when I was growing up, because those weren’t traditional Fair Isle colours. I bought these fingerless gloves a few years ago, and they come out every winter. I love wearing them.
You absolutely should get it made and some matching fingerless gloves to go with it too. Just think, it’s timeless and you’ll cherish them forever. More things need to be made with love like this ❤️
I know it isn’t the point- but the pattern is one of my favourite knitware patterns!
Great article!
I agree with you. I’m a sucker for the pattern and I just love the story behind it. Makes it feel even more special.
Writing about the wool and how it is fashioned for use in that place is such a great way to keep the knowledge of tradition living history.

Ooo I loved reading that the surroundings are knit into clothing. This is so beautiful.
There are so many little hidden meanings in the world, I just love finding them. Makes me realise how beautiful the world is.
